Threatened and Endangered
Botanical Species of Butte County

With the mural that spans the front of 1078 Gallery I wanted to excite Chico locals to explore the surrounding recreational areas of Butte county in a type of scavenger hunt. By illustrating species of wildflowers that are more rare than poppies and lupins I aimed to educate and engage the community to keep an eye out for these unique flowers that are endemic to our home.

Cropped image highlighting painted areas.

Pulling from 17th Century Science Illustrations that combine elements of similar themes to create visually appealing collages, the collections of flowers create bouquets of flora.

With help from family and friends the mural was finished over the course of a week.
